June 22 - June 29, 2023
Knoxville, TN
Next Level Camp (for those entering 8th grade and up in fall 2024)
RESERVE YOUR SPOT FOR CHWC HERE
We have a limited number of spots available, and I will be filling them on a first-come first-serve basis. To sign up, please 1) fill out the google form (link above) and 2) submit a $100 check to St. Eulalia Parish (mark CHWC in memo). Please mark "Attention: Cathy Saleh" on the outside of the envelope. If signing up for this is financially difficult, please reach out to me. Mail or drop off at St. Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester.
If snow days are used and the school year continues into the week of our trip, I will contact school principals to request excused absences. I believe this happened only once in the past and it was not a problem, but I just want you to be aware.
The cost is $450 PLUS roughly that same amount in other costs including transportation (we will fundraise to cover these additional costs, including selling raffle tickets).
Catholic HEART Workcamp is about SERVICE, CONNECTION and LOVING OTHERS. Saint Eulalia Youth Ministry CHWC provides parish youth groups, teens and adult leaders service opportunities to restore homes and HEARTS, feed the hungry, lift the spirits of children, bring joy to the elderly and disabled and offer assistance while partnering with social agencies. Each Workcamp is equipped with a summer staff, director, manager, musician, nurse and priests to celebrate mass/confession. It is a youth-friendly Christ-centered week of caring for others and becoming empowered by the joyful atmosphere when young people gather together! Catholic HEART Workcamp faithfully and enthusiastically serves the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings and is an excellent opportunity to “love the least of these”.

A local men's bible study group offers need-based scholarships to students (entering high school through just-graduated from high school) interested in traveling with School the World on their summer and spring break service trips.
Personal note from Jim: "I am in a Bible Study Group with a bunch of Winchester guys and we have committed to work with a group called School the World (STW) - https://schooltheworld.org/. We believe their mission to minister to poor Central American communities to reduce poverty through the Power of Education is life-changing for youth in the towns they serve. And the opportunity for Winchester/Arlington high school students to participate on service trips is a game-changer for many of them. My daughter went on spring break for 3 years – 10th, 11th, 12th and had a wonderful experience. Not only do the students help to build the schools (typically painting, some cement mixing etc…) but they spend time with young children in the community and spend a day with a family in the community. So, they get a different perspective on how blessed they are and how much they have while also developing their sense of service to others. All the guys in the Bible Study group (that raise the scholarship funds) are from Winchester, but we are happy to also recruit and help support students from Arlington as well."
