The Faith Formation program for 9th and 10th graders will begin with a summertime required family appointment including your student and at least one parent/guardian in your family. All parents and guardians are invited of course. This is an informal opportunity for us to meet each other and to review your rising 9th or 10th grader’s needs, interests, questions and progress. Please review the available slots at the link below and click on the button to sign up. If none of the appointments suits your schedule, please reach out to me to find another mutually convenient time. I ask that you schedule this as soon as possible, even if the eventual appointment will be a month or two away. You can also email or call Cathy Saleh at 781-368-5099 to schedule the appointment if you prefer.

Our Faith Formation program at St. Eulalia Parish is based on formation, not just information. For this reason, the program is designed to engage young adults to see how their faith relates to everything going on their lives.
Our 7th and 8th grade programs are small group class room settings with experienced catechists and team leaders. This provides an environment for engagement and sharing of faith activities. In the 8th grade we use the Encounter interactive program from Ascension Press to help teens learn how to break open the Bible and see how it’s relevant to our everyday world. We have also created an entire semester based on the introduction of various prayer forms.
Our 9-10 grade programs are set in a large group setting with small break out groups for discussion. We create an engaging and spiritual experience for the teens.
The programs are complemented by service programs, retreats, and social and prayer related events.
Relating our Catholic faith to the everyday world of teens requires us to integrate what is happening in the world around us. Each week we discuss relevant topics affecting us and those less fortunate in the world. These topics find their way into interactive discussions of how we area called to affect our behavior in the world.
It’s not all serious though, we use humor, music and activities to help build our community together. The “Skit Guys” are becoming a regular virtual tool for discussions and activities.
External speakers and events are also a key part of the activities. In the past year we have had authors, Catholic speakers, missionaries, prison ministry and the plight of the homeless all topics we need to relate.
One key event for our youth in their spiritual development is Confirmation which is held in the fall each year. Typically, this occurs in the 11th grade, and includes a preparation retreat, evening of reflection and the receipt of the sacrament. A truly wonderful experience for us all.
